Two weeks ago we got the new MTV-12 3-blade prop for our M20K 252.
Installation was done directly at the factory in Straubing EDMS and very professional. It definitely merits a visit. Can't tell too much about performance yet but it seems to climb a little better. The prop is also around 10 kgs lighter.
A detailed report of the propeller change will follow on the website and EMPOA plans to have a premium partnership with MT Propeller for the future.

Hello, David.
I heard the same about the performance of this prop. Because of the belly landing of my 201 I asked for this prop, too. But last week I heard that it takes at least 12 weeks to get this part. So I hope that I'm as happy as you are with your new MT.

I presume it is a little quieter and has better ground clearance (ie smaller diameter) than the 2 blader? Is that the main reason for the change? As I understand it performance is about the same...

Hi Spreti, I you don't mid telling us, what was the cause of your belly landing? Was it a failure of the emergency extension system? I ask because during my recent annual I discovered that the gear would not extend manually due to the small brass clutch in the Eaton actuator being worn....apparently a common problem if the emergency system is not rigged correctly or the deployment lever is inadvertently unlatched during normal gear retraction and extension....

You're right: the ground clearance is the main reason for the 3-blader end the noise level is the second.

The cause for the belly landing was that the gear actuator died after takeoff and the pilot didn't notice it. Before landing he put the lever for the electric gear downward and didn't realise that this hadn't any effect. Shit happens.
