EMPOA Summer Meet 2021 - EDLP
Dear EMPOA Mooniacs,
after we had completely stopped the planning for our summer meeting, we are very pleased that the current relaxation of the Corona rules gives us the opportunity to let the annual general meeting and part of the planned weekend program take place.
Nevertheless, it is still difficult to get reliable commitments for the planned activities. Unfortunately we have received a cancellation for the Hangar II which meant that we had to cancel the whole event! Not the type of message you’d like to receive two weeks before such an event.
Quick rescheduling was required - in consultation with the Airport Hotel Paderborn and the Quax Fliegerfreunde and some persuasion, we have been able to rent the Panolo Panorama Lounge on the roof of the neighboring Quax Hangar as an alternative solution.
From the roof terrace you have a great view over the entire airport and the Panorama Lounge is located directly on the private apron, which we will use as a parking space for our Mooneys.
Unfortunately we have also received a rejection for the planned castle tour (Wewelsburg). Even if the corona rules allow an opening, the castle remains closed. It's a shame, but we have also prepared an alternative activity here. We have prepared a guided tour of the Quax Friends' historic aircraft collection as an activity for the afternoon. A highlight is definitely the D-AQUI (JU52) from the Lufthansa Foundation, which has found a new home in the Quax Hangar.
For the Mooniacs who want to stay overnight, please send us a short email with your details. We have blocked a contingent of rooms at the Airport Hotel. Same for the Moonias who have already reserved a room in the hotel on their own. Currently the hotel staff cannot differntiate if they are EMPOA members or normal hotel guests.

EMPOA Summer meeting - EDLP
Saturday, June 12th 2021
from 11.30 a.m.: Arrival at Paderborn Lippstadt Airport (EDLP)
- Welcome and after-landing-drink on the private apron of Hangar II and the Quax Hangars.
After landing you will be met at the gate to the apron of Hangar II and will be assigned your parking position. All Mooneys should be placed as a flightline on the apron of the hangars. There is space for around 20-25 Mooneys on the apron, but should more Mooniacs arrive, there is a shuttle from the GAT. - 1:00 p.m. EMPOA annual general meeting in the Panolo Panorama Lounge
- From 3:30 p.m .: for the Mooniacs who want to stay overnight. Transfer by Bulli or on foot (700 m walk) to the Airport Hotel Paderborn for check-in
- From 4 p.m .: Tour of the Quax hangar (historic aircraft collection)
- 7.00 p.m.: Dinner at the Panolo Panorma Lounge, Invitation from the EMPOA
