Dear Mooney pilots and EMPOA members,

We hope you all had a great start to the new year. To kick off the flying year with a highlight in terms of safety and training, we are pleased to invite you to the Mooney Safety Training 2026 !

In cooperation between Mooney Safety Foundation (USA) and EMPOA bring concentrated expertise to Germany to perfect your skills on the Mooney.

Event Overview

• When: June 12-14, 2026.
  Ground training begins first thing in the morning on June 12, 2026.
                          Arriving the day/evening before may be advisable/necessary.
• Where: Kassel (EDVK)
                         GAT Kassel, Conference Room (Ground Training)
   Kassel                        Airport , GAT (Flight Training)
• Content: One day of intensive ground training, followed by two days of flight training.

The program

(The exact times and details will be announced after coordination with MooneySafety Inc.)

• Friday: Ground Training (All Day) Intensive theory lessons (approx. 8 hours) – by Mooney instructors and pilot experts. Topics are including Mooney systems, weight & balance, performance (“flying by the numbers”) and Maintenance and repair .
• Saturday & Sunday: Flight Sessions Each participant completes two 2-hour flight sessions with an experienced Mooney instructor:
  1. Session 1: Focus on VFR skills, landings, stalls and emergency procedures (meets the requirements for a Flight Review).
  2. Session 2: Focus on IFR proficiency (Instrument Proficiency Check for IFR pilots) or individual in-depth training ( Crosswind landings, autopilot training, etc.) for VFR pilots.
• Networking & Socializing: On Saturday evening we will meet at the hotel for a joint dinner to exchange our experiences and cultivate our EMPOA-Mooney network.

Costs & Registration

The participation fee is EUR 1,800 .

It contains:

• Rental of premises (airport lounges, briefing rooms , conference room).
• Travel, hotel and instructor fees for Mooney Safety Foundation .
• Remuneration of speakers and flight instructors.
• Dinner on Saturday evening.

Not included are:

• Personal hotel and accommodation costs (A block of rooms has been reserved at the Hotel Rosengarten, Kassel)
• Individual landing, parking and ATC fees apply.

Important note regarding the calculation: The costs are calculated somewhat conservatively. Since we could generate surpluses with a higher number of participants or optimized travel expenses, we will transparently refund these to the participants after the event.

• A deposit of EUR 1,200 is due by 01.2026 (confirms the booking).
• The remaining balance is due no later than March 31, 2026 .

Cancellation policy:

• Up to and including January 31, 2026: Full reimbursement of EUR 1,800.
• Up to and including March 31, 2026: Reimbursement of EUR 1,200.
• After March 31, 2026: Refund of 100 EUR.
