Bamberg – ‘Smoke on’ in your glass too
In 2026, the Annual General Meeting will take us to a place where world heritage meets the Franconian way of life – and smoke is expressly welcome. Amidst historic alleyways, authentic brewing traditions and impressive scenery, we can look forward to a weekend of exchange, reunions and good conversation – as well as inspiration for future world rounders.
And those who prefer a less smoky atmosphere have something to look forward to as well: Main-Wein-Franken also has plenty to offer.
In short: you can look forward to a varied weekend in one of the most beautiful cities in Germany!

* Bamberg city centre is about a 15-minute walk from the conference hotel. This gives accompanying persons the opportunity to explore the old town on their own during the meeting.

Cost and registration
Cost: €155 per person.
Included services: Meals in Herzogenaurach, bus travel, covered wagon ride with refreshments, guided tour of the town. EMPOA will cover the cost of coffee and cake, dinner with drinks at the hotel, and soft drinks during the Annual General Meeting.
Registration: Limited to 37 participants.
Please register by 15 March 2026 using the form at https://forms.office.com/r/1KpLKqbBhq . Information on payment and meal preferences for Friday will be sent by email.
Cancellation: In the event of cancellation, organisational costs and cancellation fees will be incurred for both the supporting programme and the conference package or dinner at the hotel. We will pass these on in the form of a flat-rate cancellation fee so that the cancellation costs to be borne by EMPOA are covered in full and the expenses incurred by the organiser of the supporting programme are largely covered.
The cancellation fee per person is €80 for cancellations made on or after 26 March, €100 for cancellations made on or after 23 April, and €130 for cancellations made on or after 30 April.
Hotel: A block of rooms has been reserved for ‘EMPOA’ at the Welcome Kongresshotel Bamberg (https://shorturl.at/lGXFH ); I will make a collective reservation; the desired room type will be requested during registration.
Cost per night with breakfast: single room €141, double room €171 (cancellation policy: free of charge up to one week in advance), payment on departure on site.
By registering for the Annual General Meeting, participants agree that their personal data and, where applicable, the data of any guests they have registered may be exchanged between the conference hotel and the EMPOA Executive Board for the purpose of organising the event (e.g. to check the accommodation list).
