Spring Letter 2026
Dear EMPOA members,
The days are finally getting longer in Europe, and the new flying season is already in full swing. We at the club also have lots of exciting news and plans to share with you today, just in time for spring.
Upcoming Events 2026
Safety and training are key to safe flying. Therefore, I'd like to remind you again of the Mooney Safety Training (PPP) in June. It's the perfect opportunity to refresh your skills under professional guidance after the winter break and further strengthen your confidence in your aircraft. There are still a few places available. Those who decide quickly can find registration details on our website: PPP
A fixed point in our club life is the EMPOA General Assembly (AGM), which this year will take us to beautiful Bamberg. In addition to the official program (agenda in the members' area), we look forward to personal interaction in a relaxed atmosphere and an attractive supporting program in the World Heritage city. Many thanks to Ines Haselmann for organizing the AGM and the supporting program. Details on the agenda and registration are already online. AGM in Bamberg
The itinerary for the Mooney Trip 2026 is also set: First, we'll fly to Lausanne against the majestic backdrop of the Alps, and the following day on to Lyon to enjoy the French art of living. Our crews can look forward to spectacular cockpit views and first-class flying hours together. Mooney trip to Lausanne and Lyon
Digital "Bookshelf" and Website Update
Behind the scenes, we've revamped our internal members' area. A particular highlight is the new "Bookshelf": a "best effort" collection of manuals, POHs for our various Mooney models, and avionics documentation. This new tool will significantly simplify access to important technical information for all of us. Tina Haug will present the Bookshelf at the AGM in Bamberg.
New Cooperation: EMPOA × BRAASCH
I am delighted to announce a new cooperation for our EMPOA insurance: This agreement is currently being finalized between EMPOA and the insurance broker BRAASCH (and the underwriter EuroAviation). The goal is to continue offering you attractive insurance terms and to extend these to members in almost all of Europe (including Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Benelux, and Scandinavia). By pooling our fleets, we benefit from a stronger negotiating position and exclusive rates. Crucially, existing AXA fleet contracts are protected, so your current terms will remain unchanged. Furthermore, every policy purchased through this cooperation directly supports the club with a referral commission. We will present the details at the AGM (General Meeting) as well as in separate online sessions and newsletters. If you are currently considering switching, please feel free to contact me directly at
Your initiative is needed!
EMPOA thrives on your commitment! In the past, I've received many fantastic ideas for excursions and events that are just begging to be implemented. We're happy to support you if needed. Even though it's still early in the year, we're still looking for a (co-)organizer for our 2026 Christmas party. Anyone interested in helping to shape this celebration is warmly welcome!
I wish you all a fantastic start and continued success in 2026. I wish us all many enjoyable hours of flying, wonderful destinations, journeys, and experiences, and—as usual—always safe landings.
Warm regards,
Markus Wagner
President, EMPOA
