Spring greetings 2021

Dear Mooniacs,

when sending out our spring greetings we normally give you an outlook for the upcoming flying season and the club’s respective activities in conjunction with many highlights to look forward to. And this is what is quite hard for us at the moment.

The long-lasting COVID-19 pandemic has hit the life for our club with tremendous force and it just doesn’t seem to end. A regular Annual General Meeting (AGM) in the known manner seems to be hard to imagine and further planned events seem to be crystal-ball gazing. Of course we will try our very best keep you posted on the up-to-date planning as soon as possible. Until that time we have to act very diligently and carefully for the health of all, but this should be self-evident for safety-conscious pilots not only in times of the COVID-19 crisis.

At EMPOA we are looking forward to some personnel changes. Our board member Lothar Lucks will retire from his post a chief-treasurer after many years of  service and we already would like to thank him for his meticulous and outstanding work in the past years. We are very happy that Dirk Klueppelberg from the Rhineland has announced his willingness to present himself as successor. I will also lay down my position as spokesperson of our organisation due to professional changes and I am already now taking the opportunity to say Good-bye just in case that a personal meeting will not be possible in 2021. And I am very relieved that our valued club member Tina Haug has agreed to take over this position.

At this point I wish you lots of health, many happy landings and hopefully see you soon!
