Dear EMPOA-Mooniacs!

Even if the now ending year 2022 with Ukraine war and inflation problems will not remain in too positive memory for most people: in our EMPOA we look back on twelve months, which finally allowed flights and tours on a normal scale again after the difficult COVID-19 times.

After our air-to-air shooting in spring, a large number of aircraft set off for the Czech Republic and Poland at the end of June for our big summer trip heading « East ». The beautiful moments in Karlovy Vary and Krakow will certainly remain in our memories for a longer time and some new friendships could be made.

But also in a smaller circles the summer offered excellent opportunities for longer and shorter trips with our speed machines.

The auction of the old life rafts could finally be completed: we wish the new owners all time safe flights on which they never have to use their "valise". For all EMPOA-Mooniacs, the two new liferafts Hamburg and Marseille are available for free loan since autumn 2022. Hamburg is a North Atlantic-ready Winslow raft, while Marseille is an ultra-compact AVI raft for touring around the Mediterranean or shorter overwater routes. The loan process has remained the same, please check the members area of our website for the last user and then contact them accordingly.

A well attended Annual General Meeting in early October brought together many Mooniacs once again. Thanks to active members like Ines and Alex Haselmann, Franconia seems to develop into a hotspot of our club.

Because Magdalena Goralczyk and Ingo Rösch also invited to our traditional Christmas party on December 2-4 in the "better Bavaria": on castle Colmberg Santa Claus read some Mooniacs the riot act and engaged our Reinhard Kammerer right away to organize a trip to the tank museum Munster in the coming year 2023. Details will be announced soon.

Our club trip to the Scilly Islands at the end of June 2023 is fully booked and Tina and Gunter Haug have agreed to organize the upcoming Annual General Meeting 2023 in the Mannheim-Heidelberg area.

Of course, there is still enough room for other ideas from all other members. Experience has shown: when a Mooniac calls and has an idea for an event, he does not stay alone. This can be understood as a call for more commitment from those who have not yet organized an event.
