Mooney Trip 2024 „Kalmar SE and Mariehamn FI“

It is with great joy and a bit of pride that I present you with the details of our 2024 Mooney trip. Supported by our Finnish club members, especially Pertti, to whom I would like to explain a very sincere Thank You, I have compiled a program which I hope you will find interesting and challenging as well.
On Thursday 20JUN we meet on the Swedish airport of Kalmar ESMQ on the Baltic sea where the local flying club will greet us with beer, wine and typical Swedish snacks. This is also the moment where everyone will receive his 2024 Mooney shirt: this year we have opted for a nice Hoodie that will keep you a bit warmer than our usual T-Shirts or polos. Once you are ready, there will be individual travel with the regular airport bus or taxi into town center to Calmar Stadshotell where we will stay for one night. After some short stroll around the town or a little nap we have a three-course-dinner at Stadshotell.
Friday 21JUN: after Swedish breakfast we have the possibility to visit Kalmar castle (Kalmar Slott). It is one of the best kept Renaissance castles in Northern Europe. Thereafter individual transfer with taxi or bus to Kalmar airport and departure along the Baltic coast towards Mariehamn EFMA. Here we are again greeted by the local flying club and get some snacks and drinks. Thereafter private bus transfer to our hotel „Hotel Adlon“ (not to be confused with the one in Berlin!). Dinner will be served by the seaside at the local Brasserie Angbatsbryggan where we will enjoy a three-course-menu.
Saturday 22JUN: after breakfast short walk to the harbor to board the historic ship M/S Sunnan II for a trip through the Aland islands on our way to Kastelholm castle (slott). The castle is one of the oldest buildings on the whole Aland archipelago and we will get a private tour to learn about the different rulers and the wars that they fought here. The boat trip will offer a full lunch and coffee on the way back. After return to Mariehamn we will only have time for a short break before we have the exclusive Mooney Midsummer party at a private location (Badhuspaviljongen). We will get a nice Swedish Midsommar dinner and you are all asked to „BYO“ (Bring Your Own with wine, beer and spirits – Sharing is caring. We have especially negotiated this for you without any corkage fees as alcohol is still a bit expensive in Finland). We hope you have sufficient sleep at Adlon Hotel thereafter.
Sunday 23JUN: after breakfast there will be a private bus transfer to EFMA airport and departure.
Program parts in bold are included, drinks during the meals are generally not included except where specifically mentioned.
Price is 860 € per person in double room, 1010 € in single room.
I hope to have arranged a program that many of you will like and look forward to welcoming you to another memorable Mooney trip. We need 20 participants, but due to hotel and airport limitations we can take a maximum of 30 persons only. First come, first serve.

Payment of 50% will be demanded at time of booking, the rest until 30 April 2024.
Cancellation rules:
Cancellation until 30 April 2024: 35% of the trip price
Cancellation until 15 May 2024: 50 % of the trip priceCancellation until 31 May 2024: 80 % of the trip price
Thereafter or if not arriving: 95 % of the trip price.
